A Message from All of Us at CA+T

November 18, 2013

As one of the top labor exporting countries, the Philippines sends workers around the world to fill a range of industries from nursing to child care to teaching to shipping to entertainment. Based in the United States, the CA+T team joins efforts from around the world to GIVE BACK to the people of the Philippines who are impacted by Typhoon Haiyan.  We especially draw your attention to disaster relief organizations that have been researched and vetted by U.S. community-based organizations like FACES, LMF, NAFCON, and AF3IRM with strong transnational ties to grassroots organizations in the Philippines. These organizations emphasize supporting local, grass-roots relief providers that link and unite the different sectors of Philippine society. We also ask you to keep your eye out for fundraisers currently being organized by Ma-Yi Theater in NYC (ma-yitheatre.org), The Parks Finest in Los Angeles (theparksfinest.com), and Bindlestiff Theater in San Francisco (www.bindlestiffstudio.org).
